Tested with today's git and the patch submitted yesterday for bug 17600.

Office 2003 and fileformatconverter.exe both install fine with the patch.

The good news: it's fixed for Word 2003. I was able to open and create docx
files with no problem. 

The bad news: it's still not fixed for Powerpoint and Excel. Powerpoint
complained about no filter being installed for the pptx filetype; Excel said
the xlsx file was an unknown format and asked if I wanted to import it as text.
