Just to add a comment about Art Taylor's work - Art has done the right thing.
Instead of complaining he has actually done some constructive work to fix the
problem. Unfortunately there were technical issues with it, which could be
debated in an orderly fashion and fixed. Unfortunately, the only constructive
contribution to this bug has been collateral damage in the flamewar this bug
caused.

Again, for anyone attempting to fix this bug: This is not a weekend's task,
expect it to take a while, and expect to run into setbacks in the form of
incorrect and not accepted solutions. And don't get distracted by flamewars.
And you may have to get patches accepted by Pulse, which probably has its own
challenges.
