This is why http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18740 should have been kept
separately. The decision to mark it as a duprec lead to very much noise here.
18740 would be ideal to find someone to work on the save ALSA API.

Maybe the save ALSA API is an idea for the next SOC?

It is one thing not to accept a new PulseAudio driver in Wine due to concerns
about maintenance. It is another thing to sabotage the usage of winehq.org to
discuss and provide a separately maintained driver which has the chance to
mature and enrich Wine in the future.   

But it is your decision and I promise not to post here anymore until I have
some really meaningful to say ...
