Crash in storm.dll in Diablo version 1.09

I get this exact bug on i686 with an unpatched Diablo.
It crashes in Diablo.exe.
However, after patching, it crashes in storm.dll.

Using Wine 1.1.21 on an AMD Athlon 64 X2 CPU.
