It is too vague. It encourages people who are not familiar with their issue or
do not spend the needed time researching to simply jump on board with an
unrelated topic that may be better served elsewhere. There is also a lack of
information by the original bug poster. When did he crash: while playing the

There are many things that can seem to cause fatal errors in Warcraft III (ATI
cards, the addition of Warden, etc.). A number of things could cause the
ORIGINAL particular bug report: however, there is a lack of information.

Most likely it happened while playing the map and is related to the execution
of poor JASS code inside custom maps. This is known to be a cause for fatal
errors on ALL operating systems (look at
http://www.wc3c.net/showthread.php?t=80693 for known bugs in JASS). Also, it is
possible it could be specific to just running via Wine; some fatal errors exist
for Mac, but not Windows, for example.

There was a bug in DotA regarding abilities/items that caused fatal errors (see
changelog for DotA v6.59: http://www.getdota.com/changelogs/index/33). Once
that was fixed my RARE fatal errors (when not using -ah) disappeared almost
entirely. I still have what seems like a 50/50 chance (or more) to get a fatal
error when -ah mode is enabled. But like I said, probably poor JASS coding.

Could my hunch be wrong in regards to the ORIGINAL bug report? Possibly.
