I now have tested the same with a nVidia card instead of an ATi and with v2.0.2
it works even with graphics BUT it is extremely slow. 
However, if I update the game to v2.40.0 it crashes with a nVidia card just
before the menu (after the intro videos) and here it doesn't seem to be related
to the details like the ATi card.
