Thanks for the information.
Running the application against wine version 1.1.32 results in the following
error message:
System Locale Error for German (Germany)_DEU.1252

This applies for the older version, which could be executed with wine, as well
as for the newer version, which failed with a different error before.
So with the current wine version none of the application versions run anymore.
