I had not been able to install the Demo via Steam, it won't show up in the
mygames list.

Instead I did a fresh clean steam install (via playonlinux).

THIS "FIXED" THE SCREEN CORRUPTION.

So I assume that either Overlord1 Files or some winetricks-installed
codecs/features collide with Overlord2. The fact that different from Overlord1
Overlord2 has complete sounds even without wmp installed may give a hint to the
heart of the problem.

I consider this not being a general problem any more, but the consequence of a
somehow messed up wineprefix-environment.
