I thought wineesd had been dropped a long time ago, along with winearts. The
main reason for dropping drivers are maintenance efforts.

I am fine with having multiple drivers to deal with different OSes.
winecoreaudio for OSX. Wineaudioio for solaris. winealsa for Linux, etc. I
don't understand why Linux needs 5 different audio APIs, while every other
system works just fine with one. I don't care what it's name is, just give me
one system that (a) is available everywhere, (b) doesn't need manual user
setup, (c) provides low latency and (d) allows software mixing. Windows gets
that done. OSX gets that done. How hard can it be?
