I'm not sure if it helps with debugging the problem, but I've just installed
d3dx9_*.dll files via winetricks and now the game works with correct speed.
Winetricks created 'native' overrides for d3dx9_26.dll ... d3dx9_42.dll.

Please let me know what can I do (specific trace flags?) to spot the problem in
builtin libraries.
