I have exactly the same problem (Deleting active MRSW lock, expect failure)
since several versions of wine now.

Maybe from 1.1.24 which was the version used for this bug report. But at the
moment I don't have the time to test.

Here is my system informations :

kalessin:0:~% uname -a ; cat /etc/debian_version;wine --version

GNU/Linux

Of course I have tried to reinstall steam, etc.

The best result was obtained by pkilling services.exe just after launching
steam. As advised here.

But then, when I try to login, steam freezes.
