It *seems* that bug is fixed in the current beta of The Bat! (current beta is
4.2.10.12 http://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/tb421012.rar <-
that link is probably going to be dead once the next beta comes out). Ritlabs
is no longer using compression on their exe files and thus the problem
vanished.

I tested this right now with a Wine 1.1.27 Version and Crossover Mac 8.01 (Wine
1.1.18 based). I'll monitor this issue and will report again, once a final
version of TB! is released.
