Hmmm... I just bisected a problem and now i see, that i'm not the first one.

Firefox does not listen to close. Follow next steps to see the problem:
    * wine firefox.exe  --on first run displays question about default browser
    * move that pop-up windows above main firefox windows --is't OK
    * on the pop-up click the X (close window)  --BAD, nothing happens
    * move that pop-up windows above main firefox windows --BAD, not repainted
    * you need to click many times quickly on X to close the pop-up
