The latest episode of Sam and Max (demo version:
http://www.telltalegames.com/download/thepenalzone ) seems to work almost
perfectly under Wine; save for a complete lack of sound output. 

This only appears to be an issue with Wine 1.1.36 and above; after bisecting
the tree, it was found that this patch (
http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/?a=commit;h=3410ab8b7ce434bfbccb1429c0d802c2e53bb8ce
) causes the regression.
