I am also experiencing this problem. 

Ubuntu 9.10 32 bit, Wine 1.1.42. nVidia GeForce 6200 and nVidia GeForce 9400
(the upgraded video card didn't fix it)

I started experiencing it with a known good install of Uru Complete Chronicles,
and retried with a clean install. The same problem occurs in windowed and
full-screen mode.

I've attached a log from my system.
