There's two problems I noticed:

The installer tries to check for the presence of Windows Media Player 9 by
checking the DLL version of wmp9.dll. This doesn't seem to work, even after
installing wmp9 from winetricks.

When the installer fails to detect Windows Media Player 9, it should display a
request for the user to download the WMP9 redist, but instead the installer
fails silently.

Hacking the installer by removing the launch condition check allows
installation to proceed.
