As mentioned in the AppDB entry for Half-Life I am also having this problem.  I
run half-life or sven-coop and it freezes on the title screen before the menu
items have appears.

I am using Ubuntu 10.04LTS and have tried with the stock 1.1.42 and 1.2 and
1.3.1 from the Ubuntu wine team PPA (  launchpad.net/~ubuntu-wine/+archive/ppa 
). I using an Thinkpad X61s with Intel 965GM graphics.

Is this a duplicate of #24064 - Half-Life no longer starts after latest Steam
update (20 Aug 2010)?
