This problem still seems to exist in 1.3.8.

I'd also like to make the suggestion that the virtual desktop should be
(properly) resizable like this as long as no game is running fullscreen in it.
In that case, it should resize to whatever the fullscreen size the game is
requesting is, until said app is closed (and the desktop is still running
afterwards).
