Removing or disabling PulseAudio has never been a 'solution'. At best it is a
workaround akin to chopping off a hand because of a broken finger.

While ALSA driver has improved over the 3 years that this bug has been open, it
is a disgrace that this contribution has not been included, adopted and
improved upon by Wine core developers along with the direct ALSA option.

Or maybe you could tell us again after how many years will the new OpenAL sound
system for Wine be ready? Maybe in another 2-3 years?

And during this time the best recommendation from the Wine project to people
wanting to actually hear some sound from their Windows applications on modern
Linux desktops will be to completely gut the audio system of a modern Linux
desktop and return back in time to 2006, when ALSA was tolerable. Really?
