I am thinking the problem is with SlingPlayer. I just read that
new versions of SlingPlayer may not be compatible with Wine,
whereas older versions of SlingPlayer ran fine in Wine.
The thing is other programs I have downloaded in Wine such
as the DS Clock and Internet Explorer and Notepad all 
run fine in the Wine window. All of these lead me to believe
the problem is with SlingPlayer.

I am in search of alternatives that run on both Windows and
Linux such as SageTV.
