Just for the record: I'm not using Gallium (when I mentioned Gallium in comment
#50 I merely wanted to point out, that Gallium already claims to support a
higher OpenGL level, even though part of that is still just a software
implementation). I'm using the radeon driver, version 6.12.4 with some updates
from Git (see
<http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/x/xserver-xorg-video-ati/current/changelog#versionversion1:6.12.4-3>).
So I think if it falls back to software on my system, it would be some Mesa
rasterizer (though i was of the opinion that everything up to OpenGL 1.5 is
hardware accelerated with this driver). But don't ask me, I'm not an expert for
X stuff. ;)
