Just came across this one after I sent a patch because I was trying to install
SQL Express myself. The patch is committed:

The installer gets further but needs .NET 3.5. Please see the appdb for that. I
wasn't able (yet) to install this .NET version but if this is not possible for
some reason it should be a different bug report.
