Attach a crash log as a plain text file. Are you able to build Wine from
sources?

Never used Ubuntu actually, interesting what this 1.0.6 is supposed to mean.
Officially vanilla Wine from 1.0 stable branch has only 1.0.0 and 1.0.1
releases. Please specify output of 'wine --version' for this 1.0.6 package.
