My point was that the package in question is not part of the Ubuntu
distribution.  It just happens to have been built on a system (Launchpad) that
is also used by Ubuntu.

I guess the question is whether the problem lies in the sources that were
uploaded by the PPA maintainer, or in the build that was produced by Launchpad.
 I'm building from sources downloaded from the PPA to see if I can figure that
out.
