I also reproduce this under gnome.  I thing the version is 2.16.0, but it is
hard to tell.

Hmmmmmm.  I do a full recompile every new version.  Do you do a "git"?

Also, although this bug, which has repaint issues too
   http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18318
has always been with us well before rc2, maybe they are related.  

Do you suspect an interaction with my video driver?

$ rpm -qa \*nvidia\*
dkms-nvidia-x11-drv-185.18.14-1.nodist.rf

Do you have a set of tests for detecting video driver problems?
