I found a wave file on this site -
http://www-mmsp.ece.mcgill.ca/documents/audioformats/wave/Samples.html -
downloaded file M1F1-int32WE-AFsp.wav, converted it to mono and when I tried

sox -t wav mono.wav -t ossdsp /dev/dsp

I got

sox FAIL formats: no handler for given file type `ossdsp'
