Using code from bug 6254 (EM_FORMATRANGE) might have cured this crash although
program output shows:
erious error: new percentage complete is less than previous value
using vk? yes
index: -24055
highIndex: 32300
newperc ==-64%is smaller than
perc == 5% 
This may be code used to fill the progress bar at the bottom of the search
screen and appears after the search button is clicked.
Crashes may also occur because EM_FINDWORDBREAK is a stub.
