I too am having issues with this (posts following will include attachments from
emerge --info as well as wine debugging information).  I've tried the various
solutions proposed (everything from downgrading wine and using native wldap32
dlls to different variants of vcrun2005's dlls as well as stock wine.

All methods fail from 1.1.43 to 1.2_rc4 (I didn't test all known available
versions, just the range listed as it would have otherwise taken me days).

Distribution: Gentoo
Platform: (x86_64) amd64

Compile time options: -O2 -march=barcelona -mtune=barcelona
(This is for the AMD Quad-core Opteron Family)
