I can confirm this behavior. I am running wine 1.2-rc5. I did an install of
Notepad++ version 5.6.8 and when I run "wine notepad++.exe" from the terminal
the program starts perfectly, I then go to "Find in Files" and when the search
starts this line appears in the terminal. 

fixme:msg:pack_message msg 14 (WM_ERASEBKGND) not supported yet

Hope this helps on tracing this bug down, and if you need any other logs I
would be more than happy to supply them.
