Although I would like to see all of the fixmes finished, there is a work
around. By using a cracked game-maker.exe the program runs and so far has been
able to compile and run the sample code included.

However when doing a quick compile to test-run the game, it does pop-up an
error "Failed to replace icon", but continues to compile and then run.

However when exiting the test-run game it crashes with a "Runtime error 216",
but Game Maker interface does successfully come back.

Windows that pop-up outside of Game Makers master window tend to be underneath
it. An easy work around would be keeping the master Game Maker window from
taking up your entire screen.

Long story short, using the cracked .exe, you can actually run and use game
maker 8.0 on linux via Wine. Yippee!
