Same thing happens under wine 1.1.40.
My OS is openSUSE 11.0 x86, Nvidia GeForce 9400GT is my GPU with 1024 mb of
memory using the 190.53 video driver.
The game is not installable under wine 1.1.40 because it complains about
AutorunGUI.dll; eventually the game starts(after i copya windows install from
virtual box) but as soon i create a profile the game crashes with the same
error under a clean environment.

Here the output i get:
