Yes, the game itself still runs.

You can start the game via
   wine metin2client.bin

But this requires that the game is patched. It is a online game which requires
an up to date client. You can' play it with an unpatched client.

Thus currently you need to copy the patched program from a patched Metin2
folder of a Windows system in your .wine/.../Metin2 folder.

Thus you need a Windows system to play Metin2.
