The extreme lagging can be observed in the demo, too. Tried with the latest git
(wine-1.1.41-211-g719d904).

Symptom: everything is fine in the menus until you select either starting a new
game or the tutorial from the 'Play' menu. From that time the game becomes very
sluggish.
Disabling sound completely doesn't solve the issue. Installing native DX dlls
doesn't help, either.
