Thanks Henri. Disabling d3d10, d3d10core and dxgi does get us a bit further. A
pop-up box states:

Cryostasis: Sleep of reason
Shader model 4.0 is not supported by your system. The game will launch without
advanced PhysX effects.

Clicking on OK causes the game to crash. I'm using 1.1.43.
