A similar error can be observed with IE 7.0 when configured to use an HTTP
proxy.

err:wininet:NETCON_secure_connect SSL_connect failed: 12157

Specifically, the browser fails to submit the HTTPS form at the following URL
(provided for Wine testing purposes) : 
https://www.rooms.hp.com/attend/default.aspx?key=RHNUUYAGFU
