I expect these issues to be display driver bugs (also because you are saying
opengl mode is also broken as hell). I'm not aware of these issues on modern
fglrx and e.g. Nvidia drivers (see for instance appdb for WoW). Since fglrx
won't be updated you might be lucky and be able to run this game using the open
source drivers. I'm marking this bug as invalid.
