Just want to add that I could solve my slowdown problems
by changing the OffscreenRenderingMode to "backbuffer".

None of the other workarounds worked for me;
the dialog that broke it for me was the "birthday party" dialog with the girl.
I got to maybe 0.25 FPS in that dialog.

I have a GeForce 6600 and a Pentium 4, and I am able to play the game in low
detail now using "backbuffer".
