CPU load didn't change notably.

No, definitely not. It's the same as on Windows, one core at almost 100%, the
other(s) idle around 0-25% once the game has loaded.
I guess there might be some WoW internal optimization going on with the Data
provided by GetLogicalProcessorInformation (which is called rather often, esp.
in heavy load areas / during times with heavy load) thus the smoother feeling
but thats all speculation from my side.
