Forgot to mention, as the app suffers from other bugs as well, you need to
install dotnet30, disable d3d9, and create the registry key 
HKLM\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\ProfileList\\S-1-5-4 

BTW, there's plenty of dotnet 3.0 apps that suffer from this bug, but I forgot
exactly which ones ;)
