I guess never read bug http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11112

At some point wine will have to implement secuirty to allow multi users to use
the same prefix at the same time. It is one of the most requested features.
Its also up there with one of the hardest to implement.

Implementing it of course is not simple.

http://wiki.winehq.org/WineReleaseCriteria Sign of highly wanted is when a bug
becomes officially tagged as if complete it becomes a trigger for a new
version.

Issue is that is unless today with wine. But wine in a few years time could
have a issue with it done wrong since a secuirty system will come at some
point.

This is part of the reason for the zero tolerance on hacks like you first did.
It will explode in our faces. Not today but in a few years time it will for
sure.

Now you look to be on the right path. Going after the real fault not hiding
it.

Surrogate I wonder how many applications that is stopping from working right.
I would guess quite a few.

This is the thing about fixing it right. You always fix more things at the
same time.
