complete log when running: wine BF1942.exe &> log.txt dated 04 06 11 at
http://sprunge.us/dLSP

exact steps required to reproduce the bug:
run winecfg and choose graphics for emulate a virtual desktop 800 x 600;
tried also to use: allow window manager to decorate windows and allow window
manager to control windows
but the crash occurs at the same place in the running of the game: when tobruk
map appears;
run wine BF1942.exe and either watch the intro movie or hit esc to go to
setup pages; select the default user name: Player; Player has a custom profile
i can not locate since
i have no manual for bf1942; select single player and instant battle; choose
any battle like tobruk;
two info screens detail the chosen game's setup with only one button to select;
after the second screen's
button is selected the map of tobruk appears for 1 second then the game crashes
back to command line in terminal.

i ran this command and it creates a file that is 131mb in size!
WINEDEBUG=+relay,+seh,+tid wine BF9141.exe &> log.txt;
when run with winedebug options the game crashes immediately with no video
output;
please, inform me how to make this very large file available to you if needed;

i searched http://bugs.winehq.org/ for battlefield and for 'battlefield 1942'
but could
not find any relevant pages or fixes; also did an extensive net search with no
fixes found.

thanks for your contributions to open source
