What's "dog slow"? My guess is that the game runs at 10-20 fps on my core i7 +
radeon hd 5770 system. That's highest settings in a 800x600 window. It is
horribly slow compared to Windows, just wondering what you're seeing.

And no, I doubt it is related. This game has always been slow on both Nvidia
and AMD cards.

Yes, I see that too. I think this is related to dynamic buffers. Afair it goes
away when you disable dynamic buffers. The issue stays if you disable
ARB_map_buffer_range, but force VBOs for dynamic buffers.
