A much simpler way to test this (guessing it is the same bug) is to download
Skype 5.2.60.113 from
http://www.oldapps.com/skype.php?app=0750fc9269ec32f685338e6841160c24 as that
one installs.

After it is installed (you get some segfaults, and firefox opens with the home
page of the skype client etc.) you go to Tools -> Options -> Audio Settings,
and you only see "None" as the device for Speakers and Microphone.
