I enabled "AlwaysOffScreen" which made the game playable for a good couple of
hours with no problems (before it would suffer the bug every other turn almost
- so massive improvement)

but now the game crashes with;

err:d3d9:IDirect3DDevice9Impl_CreateVertexDeclaration Failed to allocate vertex
declaration memory.
wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x00000018 at address 0xf6d49fab
(thread 0053), starting debugger...
wine client error:53: read: Bad address
Shutting down. . .
