I also have this problem on wine 1.3.35, with GeForce 7600GT. I attached a
screenshot of the menu, there seems to be some response if I click randomly
(the cursor is not visible in the screenshot but I could see it). I once
probably got to start the game, but I only heard some sound, the screen was
still black.
