I found bug #7210 but then I cannot install it nor can I test if this one works
in either native XP or in the compatibility list and assume that native does
not work.

If I could install 3DMark®99 MAX Free Version from bug #7210 and try just
changing the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\DirectX\ to 4.6.1.0. If that makes it run
I would mark this as a duplicate of that bug and would ask for it to be
reopened.
