This program works fine for me when set to Windows XP, but when set to Vista or
7, it crashes. mmdevapi was introduced in Vista, so could be related to the
crash. However, a +mmdevapi log doesn't even show mmdevapi being loaded.
Disabling mmdevapi doesn't prevent the crash.

Tested with 2e7ee8d9d67e65c05a1026baaa9daa1c1bdc554b.
