I probably won't have time to look into this today, but here's some thoughts if
someone else does.

The original commit modifying Bind was
3173305e887775624d46f7cc65283723886930c0. This had a bug which prevented
inherited interfaces from being searched, and this was fixed by
c0f120db5d6b72917dd9bb1e4630f2b6ff6960a6.
