Ah! You're right. I didn't even think about it, but I must habitually move the
mouse away (down and right) after clicking on an item. I just confirmed now
that that is in fact the cause of the crashes for me.

I had connected with one of the SotIS developers and we spent some time
debugging this. We narrowed it down to being something to do with the buttons
(if they were removed, I was unable to trigger the crash), but I never made the
connection to the crash being triggered by the mouseover on the component
buttons.
