Is this still a problem with wine from git?
I was able to install the app, start it, and use it to update itself
to winebugs 1.4.3 per
http://www.mrc-bsu.cam.ac.uk/bugs/winbugs/WinBUGS14_cumulative_patch_No3_06_08_07_RELEASE.txt

If this is still a problem, please give us a recipe including
exact mouseclicks and keystrokes.
